O observare a mentalului colectiv.

A megalopolis is commonly defined as a vast urban agglomeration formed by several contiguous cities that have grown together into a continuous metropolitan region. Such is the definition one encounters in the dictionary. The process of megalopolitanisation reconfigures space through new forms of functional organisation. Within this context, I positioned myself along a shifting aesthetic axis between purism and eclecticism, deliberately avoiding any direct deduction of causal references. Believing that the presumed source of aesthetic and cultural manifestations lies in the convergence of multiple modes of thought, representation, and expression, I conceived the series Contemporary Megalopolis through sustained observation of the realities characteristic of metropolitan environments. The foundational algorithm of the aesthetic discourse was constructed through the logic of observing the structures of contemporary existence. This present is itself shaped by a past that continually repeats, rewrites, and reprojects itself, revealing characteristic aspects of human mentality within the context of late postmodernism. The series thus becomes an observation of the collective consciousness. Rather than documenting the visible morphology of the contemporary city, the works investigate the psychological and cultural structures generated by metropolitan existence. Urban density, accelerated rhythms of life, the coexistence of heterogeneous identities, and the perpetual transformation of the built environment become visual metaphors for a collective state of mind. The city is no longer merely a geographical entity but a cultural organism in continuous reconfiguration. Through abstraction and synthesis, the visual language seeks to capture not the architecture of the metropolis itself, but the invisible dynamics that shape contemporary human experience. Each work functions as a fragment of a larger discourse in which memory, repetition, adaptation, and coexistence generate a complex network of meanings. In this sense, Contemporary Megalopolis proposes a reflection on the conditions of living within the contemporary metropolis, inviting the viewer to recognise both the collective patterns that define urban civilisation and the individual experiences that persist within it.
