Adam and Eve
A story of the consequences of original sin.


I confess that as far as I am concerned, the evolution of artistic thinking over many years has borne the imprint of the struggle between the new and the old. If in music the hearing is the best judge, it means that in what is plastic art, the vase would be in the role of the judge.

I have boldly proposed that in the series of works "Adam and Eve", where Adam is man in general as a collective name for the human race and Eve the mother of the living, to render current consequences or less actual violations of the Divine command. A way out of the original state of innocence. Starting from the concept of original sin, using metaphorically the names of Adam and Eve, I highlighted the consequences that have reached the present, resulting from the primordial conflict, not wanting to order them into spheres of good or bad, positive, negative.

This series is an account of the consequences deriving from point 0 described as original sin. An account of some simple consequences derived from the idea that steadfastly conquered the hearts and minds of people, that caused battles of ideas or changed lives, that of the original couple, of duality and/or polarization, without which many of the beliefs or manifestations ours would not exist. Adam and Eve would be among the first dramatic ideas in human history.

Subordinating the artistic thinking to such an idea from the Book of Genesis was quite dangerous and this because it could lead to a disorganization of the form at any moment, to the trivialization of the beauty of the meaning. Not being concerned with the veracity of the idea itself or the suggestion of an action that would show the event, the thread of the story, creating forms that describe a previous work, I thought of the works starting from the well-known story Adam and Eve, but transformed into the prolegomena. A set of preliminary notions with which I created consequences that, traveling almost pathologically along a path in the temporal arc, are found but unargued in form in an actuality apparently incompatible with the origin story. I accepted the idea according to which the fundamental problem of the contemporary artist is to find a "form" in art that can adapt to the requirements of the time.

Translucent strips

The systems of translucent, semi-opaque, semi-transparent strips from which I created contours, plastically rendering facts, ideas, representing structures of objects, was the possible option, the method of approach. I did not choose the actual reproduction of the objects, but rather interpreted geometric structures to make the expression visible. Starting from the direct observation of the elements from the surrounding reality, known and accessible, I transformed through constructions, folding modeling, the element-motive "translucent band", processing the visual information in accordance with the theme of the series, creating creations functional with geometric content. Describing the shape using mathematical, geometric language was the natural choice. The motif element translucent tape was used to create repetitive strings from which we outlined intuitive-functional forms. Adding visual appeal to geometric compositions with a palette of vibrant colors, we highlighted complex patterns and shapes to obtain a visual experience already known to the viewer through the prism of current and/or modern perceptions in terms of color. The "complicated" beauty brought by the geometric elements helped me to create an artistic expression rich in visual perspectives, presenting at the same time one of the qualities conferred by it: the elegance of geometric shapes.

The digital works in this catalog can be printed on various materials, flexible or rigid (photographic paper based on silver, photographic paper intended for digital printing, cotton canvas, polypropylene, forex, dibond-metallic, wood, etc.)

Due to the quality at which the works were created, the prints can be made in very large sizes, between 1.5m and 3m, at resolutions of 1200-2400 DPI (super photo), on the latest generation machines, in 6-12 colors. To protect the obtained exceptional quality print, it can be laminated glossy or matte. In the catalog, the dimensions of the works and the corresponding frames, recommended by the artist, are indicated/suggested.

According to current legislation, the reproduction of a unique work or the copies made after works that are not unique (e.g. digital art works), are considered original works if they are made by the author and with his consent.

The works/reproductions/copies are accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed in the original by the author, a certificate that attests and guarantees the originality, authenticity and copyright of the work of art which is part of the artist's creation. The certificate also specifies, as the case may be, if the work is unique, or in the case of a reproduction/copy, no. of previous reproductions/copies.
